Elate Child Foundation

We are uplifting children with disabilities and equipping caregivers with the resources to provide quality, compassionate care.

About Us

Elate Child Foundation (ECF) is the public-facing institutional identity and mission platform through which the organization advances child-first disability inclusion, family support, youth empowerment, and community transformation. Legally, ECF is otherwise known as Elate Child Initiative (ECI). It is a not-for-profit entity with a clear mission centred on children with disabilities and vulnerable young people.

At the heart of ECF is The Child Disability Mission, the Foundation’s moral anchor and strategic entry point. The Mission responds directly to the exclusion experienced by children with disabilities like blindness, deafness, autism, albinism, while also opening pathways of inclusion and opportunity for children with other diverse disabilities, especially those who are overlooked within homes, schools, health systems, and community life

Who we are

Elate Child Foundation (ECF) is a purpose-driven nonprofit whose activities are ensuring that children with disabilities are seen, supported, protected, and empowered to thrive. It is delivering and shaping child-centred interventions across disability inclusion, inclusive education, health and psychosocial support, youth livelihoods, peacebuilding, research, and community systems strengthening.

ECF’s distinctive contribution lies in its child-first philosophy. At its heart, the belief that children with disabilities are children first; they need not only treatment or assistance, but love, belonging, play, learning, dignity, and a fair chance to participate fully in society. Through The Child Disability Mission, ECF is addressing the sharp exclusion faced by children with impaired functionalities including physical, hearing, developmental, intellectual, communication, and multiple disabilities. Through its learning, advocacy, and inclusion model.

The Foundation combines grassroots service delivery with systems change. It supports children directly, equips families, strengthens schools and communities, influences policy, and builds partnerships that improve long-term outcomes. ECF also intentionally prepares adolescents and young people with disabilities for adulthood through enterprise, leadership, and self-reliance pathways. In doing so, the Foundation works to break the cycle of poverty, stigma, and exclusion, one child, one touch, everyone, everywhere.

We envision a society where children with disabilities are fully seen, valued, and empowered, and where every young person, regardless of ability, enjoys equal rights, access to services, and the opportunity to flourish within sustainable and inclusive communities.
